UPDATE 2016/08/03: Email Notification Issue

UPDATE 2016/08/03: The first updates are arriving to address the changes to Gmail.  Firmware downloads will be published in the 'New Software Announcements' section as they arrive.

We have identified an issue with certain Swann recorders that have caused email notifications to no longer send via Gmail.

This issue is a result of a change in the Gmail server settings.  We are currently working to resolve the issue and we expect to commence publishing firmware updates for this issue in approx. 1 month.  This is to ensure that the fix is robust and tested fully.

There is no known workaround for this issue at the moment.  We have tested other webmail providers without success.

One potential workaround is to use your own internet provider's email servers.  You should check with your ISP's support section to acquire the SMTP configuration for their servers and apply this to your recorder.

For example, here is the email support article published by Verizon for their customers:

https://www.verizon.com/support/consumer/email/settings

You only need to use the SMTP server and authentication information.  You can leave the recipient as is so that the email notifications continue to be sent to the same email address.  Please reference your recorder's email configuration instructions and substitute in the ISP configuration at the relevant steps.
