Swann Security App pairing error: Failed to verify credentials / Failed to connect to device, retrying Follow

Meaning
When you get this error message when trying to pair a V8 recorder to Swann Security app, this means you entered incorrect information.
- An email address was typed as the User Name instead of the recorder's username.
- The password of the Swann Security account was typed instead of the password of the recorder.
- A different port number was typed in the app or used in the recorder.
Resolution
To resolve this, the following information must be correct:

Username and Password – please login to the recorder (via TV and mouse) to verify you are using the same username and password.
If you do not know the username and password, either:
- You have not set one up yet via the Startup Wizard (see How do I see the Setup or Startup Wizard of my DVR / NVR?),
or - You forgot the password. See How to reset the password or get the recovery code of your DVR/NVR/NVW
- You have not set one up yet via the Startup Wizard (see How do I see the Setup or Startup Wizard of my DVR / NVR?),

Port number – login to Menu > Network (side) > Port Configuration (tab) and use the Internal/External port as Client port.
- Internal and External port are the same by default (9000).
- Use the External port if they are different.
