Your camera is still online but you want to connect your device to a different Wi-Fi
Please see this How to update the Wi-Fi settings of a Swann Security Wi-Fi camera article to change wireless connection on your device.
You changed or got a new router or can no longer connect to the Wi-Fi associated with your device
If you changed your router or Internet Service Provider or Wi-Fi credentials of your router, then the camera will have a red blinking LED status as it will try to find the old Wi-Fi access point. Please follow the steps below to re-pair your device to the Swann Security App.
- Factory reset the camera in order to erase the old Wi-Fi credentials. You cannot do this from the app because it is no longer communicating with the old router. (Please search "How to hard reset" with the model number to find the correct procedure. Each camera has a different method for factory reset)
- Do not unpair/remove the device from your Swann Security account. Deleting the device on your app is not necessary. The device info will be updated after the re-pairing process (next step).
- After resetting the camera, tap on Pair Device. Scan the QR code or choose Manual Pair to enter the device ID.
- Enter the new Wi-Fi credentials (SSID name and password) as usual. See Pair your IP Camera on Swann Security app.
Note: If you did the factory reset properly and entered the correct Wi-Fi credentials, then your camera should now be updated with the new Wi-Fi SSID name and password.
