NOTE: This guide is for the following cameras: SWIFI-CAM | SWIFI-ALERTCAM | SWIFI-SPOTCAM | SWIFI-FLOCAM2 | SWIFI-XTRCAM | SWIFI-BUDDY | SWIFI-FOURTIFY | SWIFI-TRACKCM | SWIFI-PTCAM2SWIFI-CORECAM | SWIFI-COREPRO | SWIFI-2KICAM | SWIFI-2KOCAM | SWIFI-4KFLOCAM | SWWHD-INDCAM | SWWHD-OUTCAM | SWWHD-FLOCAM
This guide applies to the exact error message "Unable to verify connection status". It is not the same as "Error: Unable to verify connectivity" (Android) which requires additional troubleshooting.
This error "Unable to verify connection status" appears for one or more of the following reasons:
- The WiFi credentials you entered in the app do not match your router's WiFi credentials.
- The Wi-Fi password contains special characters. See Swann Security App pairing Wi-Fi cameras: Special characters on WiFi credentials .
- The SWIFI camera is not in pairing mode.
Pairing Mode | Not in Pairing Mode |
LED indicator is Slow Blinking blue |
LED indicator is Fast Blinking blue For other LED status, see Wireless Cameras LED Status (Devices that use Swann Security app only) |
To resolve this error, you do NOT need to unpair the camera. Do the following steps in order:
1. Identify and enter the correct SSID Password (Wi-Fi credentials)
|
2. Factory reset the camera to pairing mode
To set the camera to pairing mode, the camera needs to be factory reset. (This can only be done if you have physical access to the camera).
- Go to this link and choose the page associated with the model of your camera: How to hard reset your SWIFI camera. If you do not know the model of your camera, see How to get your Swann product model, P2P or UID, MAC address or ID, Serial Number (S/N), and Software/Firmware (FW) version?
- If the camera is rechargeable, ensure the camera has been charged for a number of hours before you begin.
- Perform the hard reset as instructed in the article.
- If you have factory reset the camera properly, the LED indicator should be slow blinking blue.
3. Check if the camera's hotspot name or access point (AP) is visible
|
All SWIFI camera models should have a hotspot name that starts with "Swann-SWIFI-xxxx" while it is in pairing mode. |
- If the camera is still in pairing mode (from Step 2), check if the hotspot name is visible.
- Go to your phone's Settings app or option.
- Go to Connections > WiFi (common for Samsung Galaxy Android 13-14).
- Look under Available networks for Swann-SWIFI-xxxx.
- If the camera hotspot name is NOT appearing, check all of the following:
- The camera is within WiFi range of your phone and router.
- The camera LED is still slow blinking blue. If not, repeat step 2: Factory reset the camera to pairing mode
Error: No devices found. |
If you have done all of the steps above thoroughly and in order but the camera hotspot is still NOT appearing, chances are the camera is faulty. If your camera is still in warranty, please contact Technical Support and provide ALL of the following information for assessment:
|
4. If the camera's hotspot or AP is visible
You should get a different error if the hotspot is detected by the phone and Swann Security app. See below.
Error Message | Resolution |
"Pair Device. We cannot automatically reconnect to the Internet" |
|
"Internet may not be available" |
