SwannShield is an AI-driven voice assistant that enhances your video doorbells. It automatically communicates with visitors, helping to secure your home effortlessly. When your doorbell is in Away or Night mode and someone rings it, SwannShield engages visitors—welcome, screen, or deter them—using your voice preferences and delivered instructions.

Before you begin:
- Your doorbell is a SwannBuddy 4K or Swann EVO Doorbell (model numbers listed above).
- You’ve installed the latest Swann Security app.
- The doorbell must have the latest firmware.

Set up SwannShield on Supported Devices
Open Swann Security app then tap the Menu icon (top-left) and select
Toggle the switch on for Night or Away Mode to activate SwannShield on each Modes.
Tap Demeanour to configure SwannShield’s interaction style with visitors.
Tap Voice to listen and select from a list of voice styles available.
- Tap the Play icon at the right to listen to the voice.
- Tap the voice you like to select it.
- Save settings by tapping or using the Back button or gesture on your phone.
Tap Address to set your location (required).
- The fastest way is to tap the Location icon and it will use your phone's location to get the address. (Allow permission when requested)
- Save settings by tapping or using the Back button or gesture on your phone.
Tap Delivery Instructions and add an instruction to teach SwannShield what to say when there is a delivery.
Under Residents, your account's name is added by default.
- Add a resident: You can add more with a total of 5 resident's name by tapping and enter a name, then tap the check icon to confirm.
- Edit a resident: Tap the Pencil icon and update its name, then tap the check icon to confirm.
- Delete a resident: Tap the Pencil icon then the bin icon A prompt will appear, tap on to confirm. The Delete button will not appear if there's only one name.
Save settings by tapping or using the Back button or gesture on your phone.

Producing the Perfect AI Conversation
- SwannShield triggers only once per press due to power-saving
- It is only available in Night or Away Modes
- It pauses AI during Live View so you can respond directly
- Recorded transcripts are available for 48 hours in the app. You can find this when you go to then select

Troubleshooting
SwannShield Doesn’t Respond
- Confirm your doorbell is in Night or Away mode.
- Ensure SwannShield is switched ON in settings.
- Restart the doorbell. Go to and select your doorbell, then choose then

If still not responding:
- Ensure Live View is not active when the bell is pressed (on any phones that has access to the Swann Security account).
- If issue persists, reset to factory defaults and set it up again.
WARNING!
DO NOT UNPAIR the doorbell as it is unnecessary.
Missing Transcript History
- Under then select logs are only available up to 48 hours.
- Make sure the app is fully updated (latest version).
- Restart app/device if missing entries.
If still missing, reboot the app or reinstall it fully.
