Email alerts: How to set up on NVW-470 (White Interface)
- Check first if the NVR is already set on motion recording and if it is working properly already. (insert link on how to set up motion recording)
- Once that's done, go to MENU > NETWORK > ADVANCE then tap on SET beside Email Settings.
- This will then ask you for some information needed as you can see at the top. Use the following settings if needed
- Gmail account
- Enable SSL or TLS – checked
- SMTP server – smtp.gmail.com
- SMTP port – 465 / 587 / 25
- Sender Address – Gmail account (e.g example@gmail.com)
- Sender Password – Gmail account’s password
- Email Receiver – any email address to receive the alert
- Interval – minimum delay between each email
- If it failed upon doing TEST, check Email Alerts: Gmail account setting (Less Secure Apps)
- Yahoo account
- Enable SSL or TLS – checked
- SMTP server – smtp.mail.yahoo.com
- SMTP port – 587 / 25
- Sender Address – Yahoo account (e.g example@yahoo.com)
- Sender Password – Yahoo account’s password
- Email Receiver – any email that will receive the alert
- Interval – minimum delay between each email
- Live or Me account
- Enable SSL or TLS – checked
- SMTP server – smtp.live.com
- SMTP port – 587 / 25
- Sender Address – Live or Me account (e.g example@me.com)
- Sender Password – Live or Me account’s password
- Email Receiver – any email that will receive the alert
- Interval – minimum delay between each email
- Gmail account
- Click on Apply to save the settings.
- Click on Test to see if the settings are correct
- If you want this feature to be enabled for Motion Detection, go back to Menu then go to Alarm/Motion and make sure that the Enable box has a check.
- You need to make sure you are on the channel where you want that feature to be enabled.
- Enable box should have a check, Motion Detection has the areas covered with red boxes, sensitivity depends on your needs, and Schedule should be green for the time that you want this feature to be enabled.In this example, ch1 is where we are.
- Send Email needs to be checked.
- Click on Apply to save the settings.
