Pause Mode in Swann Security App
What is Pause Mode? Pause Mode lets you temporarily stop motion detection and push notifications across your stand-alone Swann cameras—without needing to adjust each one manually. Perfect for when you want some quiet time without alerts.
Before You Begin:
- Works only with stand-alone Swann cameras
- Not available if you have a recorder paired to your account
- Make sure your Swann Security app is up to date

1. Enable Pause Mode
- Open the Swann Security app, then tap the icon at the bottom.
- Select Pause from the list.

- Minimum: 1 minute
- Maximum: 11 hours and 59 minutes
- Tap to activate

Why this helps? This lets you temporarily stop notifications and recordings—ideal when you're expecting guests or doing yard work.
2. Extend Pause Mode
While Pause Mode is active, tap the to extend Pause mode. Repeat if needed (up to 11 hours and 59 minutes only).
You can also just update the duration by tapping the Pause mode again and set a new duration.
Why this helps? Extending is quicker than re-setting a whole new pause, especially if you just need a bit more time.
3. How Pause Mode Ends
Pause Mode ends in two scenarios:
- Reverts Automatically—When your selected pause time is up, the app switches back to the previous Mode (Home, Night, or Away).
- Overridden by a Scheduled Change—If you have a scheduled mode change set to happen (e.g. Night mode at 9pm) before Pause Mode ends (e.g. Pause mode ends at 10pm), the scheduled change will take over.
Why this matters? This ensures Pause Mode doesn’t interfere with your automation settings.
If That Didn’t Work…
I don’t see Pause Mode in the app
- Make sure you don’t have a recorder linked to your account
- Double-check you’re using stand-alone cameras only
- Update the app to the latest version
Pause Mode ended sooner than expected
- Check for any scheduled mode changes that may have triggered earlier
- Review your Mode schedule in the app
