    Hi Ed, not sure what you are needing the NVR to do but the NVR works with networks as such and a VPN is just widening your network essentially. If you had a site to site VPN or similar setup it should work as the NVR is just another network device. We have had a camera connected from our USA office to an NVR in our AU office over the VPN some time back, it needed a bit of understanding of the various IP addresses and such but it did work.
