Swann Security App for Android 8 and lower Devices

Note1: The current Swann Security v4.x market app does NOT natively support Android 8 and lower.

Step by step Guide
- Download the App. Click this link to download the Swann Security v2.9.54 APK from our secure location to your mobile device.

Install the APK file. Select the tab below based on your Android OS version for the appropriate installation guide.
Note: Follow these steps to enable the Unknown sources setting on the fly during the installation process. This instruction is for Samsung devices, but other Android phones or tablets will have a similar experience.
- Swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the Apps screen.
- Find and open My Files or similar app available to your device.
- If this is the first time you are using this app, tap ALLOW on the popup to allow access to your local files.
- If this is the first time you are using this app, tap ALLOW on the popup to allow access to your local files.
- On the app screen, find the file APK file you just downloaded. This generally inside the Download folder.
- Tap the APK file to open.
- Tap SETTINGS on the popup to enable Install unknown sources.
- Tap Allow from this source
to turn on
and then tap the Back (<) button. Note: This setting can be disabled again after installing the Swann Security app by following the Android 8 Option 2 (steps 1 - 6) and tapping
to turn off
.
- Tap INSTALL.
- Once App is installed, tap OPEN to start using the app.

- Find and open the Settings
app and navigate to the Apps menu on the list.
- Tap the three dot Menu icon (upper-right).
- Tap Special access.
- Select Install unknown apps and find the My Files or similar app on the list.
- Tap Allow from this source
to turn on
. Note: This setting can be disabled again after installing of the Swann Security app by following the steps 1 - 6 above and tapping
to turn off
.

Go back to the Apps screen and find the My Files app. Tap to open and find the file APK file you just downloaded. This generally inside the Download folder.
- Tap the APK file to open and install.
- Once App is installed, tap OPEN to start using the app.

From the Home screen, tap the Apps folder to open the App screen.
- Find and open the Settings
app and navigate to the Lock screen and security on the list.
- If unavailable, tap Security.
- Tap Unknown sources
to turn on
.
- To continue, review prompt then tap OK. Note: This setting can be disabled again after installing the Swann Security app by following the steps 1 - 4 above and tapping
to turn off
.

Go back to the Apps screen and find the My Files app. Tap to open and find the file APK file you just downloaded. This generally inside the Download folder.
- Tap the APK file to open and install.
- Once App is installed, tap OPEN to start using the app.
- Start using the app. Access the Apps screen again and locate the Swann Security app and tap to Open.
