Swann Security Wi-Fi Cameras: How many days of recordings can I see in the app?

When setting up a security system, knowing how long your camera will record is essential. The recording duration can vary widely depending on the camera model. In this article, we’ll break down the recording times for different camera models.

Without a Secure+ Plan subscription

In recent years, we’ve proudly offered free cloud recordings as part of our service, allowing you to review footage and stay connected to your security system, no matter where you are. While it’s been our pleasure to provide this complimentary feature, we're introducing a small change in newer models to continue enhancing our technology and bringing you the best possible security experience.

Recently released cameras like SWIFI-SESOL2KBC, SWIFI-SE2KBC, SWIFI-SEVDBC, SWIFI-SE2KPT, and SWIFI-SE2KIC, which are aimed to be more affordable, have no free cloud storage. Recordings will be saved to their microSD card once purchased separately. This change will help us ensure that we continue delivering the highest quality, most reliable security features while supporting future innovations' development.

• SWIFI-4KPTBC, SWIFI-4KXTRMECO, SWIFI-4KBUDDY, SWIFI-4KXTRM, SWIFI-4KFLOCAM, SWIFI-COREPRO, SWIFI-CORECAM, SWIFI-FOURTIFY, SWIFI-2KOCAM, and SWIFI-2KICAM, these have 1 day Cloud recording.
• SWIFI-TRACKCM, on the other hand, only stores recordings on its microSD card.
• Older models such as SWIFI-BUDDY, SWIFI-XTRCM, SWIFI-CAM, SWIFI-PTCAM2, SWIFI-FLOCAM2, SWIFI-SPOTCAM, SWIFI-ALERTCAM, SWIFI-SLMFLC, WHD-FLOCAM, WHD-OUTCAM, WHD-INDCAM, had 7 days Cloud recording.

The built-in memory stored on the camera is only there as a cache for videos before uploading and when the camera network is interrupted. Once the camera is accessible, it will immediately upload all backed-up clips to the cloud and free up memory for more backup time. This means the oldest recordings in the cache are deleted to make room for newer recordings.

• To see the number of days the internal storage a camera can hold, go to Devices > (device name/settings) > Storage. If your camera uses a microSD card, you have the option to expand its internal storage capacity. See Is the internal storage of my SWIFI camera expandable?
• To extend the days of cloud storage, you can get a subscription by tapping Menu > Secure+ Plans in the Swann Security app.

NOTE: Cloud recordings made before activating a Secure+ subscription will retain their original storage duration and are not extended retroactively. Recordings from up to 60 days ago will only be available if a subscription was active during that time. For example:

• If you subscribed 60 days ago, you'll still see the cloud clips 60 days ago.
• If you just subscribed today, you won't see the cloud clips 60 days ago
