Swann Security Recorder: Can They Store Recordings to the Cloud?
Answer: No
All recorders save their recordings internally to a hard drive or microSD card.
Is there a workaround: Yes.
You can have it uploaded to Dropbox if you want it stored in the cloud.
These recorders can send a copy of the recordings to your own linked Dropbox account for cloud storage if you have set one up.
- You can enable Picture to Cloud on all channels. Images sent to Dropbox will always be based on Substream.
- You can enable Video to Cloud up to 2 channels. Videos sent to Dropbox will depend on what Stream type was chosen under the Menu > Devices > Cloud Storage. Videos sent to Dropbox will be shorter than the clip itself as the intention is to give you an overview of what happened; you need to see the playback clip itself via recorder events or software playback in order to see the entire event.
Dropbox is the sole file hosting service and cannot be changed. To activate the cloud function, please use the Swann Security mobile app for linking and set up a Dropbox account. See the steps for setup based on your unit:

The duration of storage will depend on the capacity of your Dropbox account and Dropbox subscription. Once your Dropbox cloud storage is full, the oldest recordings in your Dropbox folder will be erased to make space for future recordings.
