Why Does Your Recorder Restart or Asks For Password Every Sunday
If you had turned OFF the Menu Timeout option to remove the password prompt, rebooting the DVR will override the menu timeout and ask for the password.
Reason
By default, Swann DVRs and NVRs will auto reboot. This is due to an enabled factory setting in the Menu > Advanced > Maintain.
Recommendation
It is recommended to leave this enabled, as it maintains the operational integrity of your DVR. Rebooting CCTV cameras enable you to release its cache to flush and recalibrate its settings. Moreover, it can also help your connections to revise themselves. This feature is useful after power or internet outages when you are not on site to manually reboot the DVR.
If you do not want to the DVR to reboot every week, then you can choose other options below

B. Never
Warning: This does not stop the DVR from turning off and on again in the event of a power outage. This will still prompt for the password after such an event.
- Uncheck the Auto Reboot box.
- Click on Apply save.
