Why Some USB-C Chargers Do Not Work with Your Wireless Camera or Battery Pack

Certain smart or fast chargers can only charge devices that use the Power Delivery (PD) profile. These chargers are common in the latest Apple® and Android smartphones/tablets, as well as various USB-C chargers from laptop brands that support the technology.

"The USB Power Delivery (USB PD) Specification enables the maximum functionality of USB by providing more flexible power delivery along with data over a single cable".

Unfortunately, our battery-powered add-on cameras do not support the Power Delivery (PD) profile and therefore cannot be charged with this type of charger.

What can I do If I ONLY have this type of charger?

First of all, that is not true. Your recorder has USB ports that you can use to charge your battery or camera.

While USB-C PD chargers are becoming more common, old type USB-A chargers are also becoming cheaper to buy. These chargers (minimum 5V - 1A or higher) can easily charge your MR4KCAM and battery pack using a USB-A to USB-C cable. Alternatively, you can purchase a desktop charger (image below) with multiple USB ports, typically supporting both USB PD and non-PD charging standards. This allows you to power your modern phones, laptops, and cameras simultaneously.
