The MaxRanger4K™’s built-in solar panel will ensure the camera is charged even during its operation. To get the best results:
- Choose the Right Spot: Place your camera where it will get plenty of sunlight. Avoid spots that are often shaded by eaves, trees, or other structures.
- Keep It Clean: Dust and dirt can reduce the panel’s efficiency. Wipe it down with a soft cloth regularly to keep it working well.

Use the PIR Sensor Wisely
The Passive Infrared (PIR) sensor is mainly used to detect moving body heat. When there's no such activity, the camera goes on idle. If you are receiving an average of 20 or more motion triggers a day after adding the detection area, you probably need to make adjustments to optimize your camera. That said, to ensure that the camera only activates when it detects movement, here are a few things you could do:
- Smart Placement: Mount your camera where it will pick up relevant activity without too many false alarms, like from passing cars or moving branches.
- Adjust Sensitivity: Fine-tune the sensor’s sensitivity to find the right balance between catching important movements and ignoring unnecessary ones. This can help prevent the camera from waking up too often and save battery life.

While the solar panel does a great job, sometimes you’ll need to charge the battery manually. The MaxRanger4K™ offers flexible options:
- USB-C Charging: Use the USB-C port for quick and easy charging when needed.
- Extra Solar Power: You can also connect an additional solar panel via the USB-C connection. This can be especially useful during seasons or locations with less sunlight and/or the placement won't get sunlight at all, but that's where you need the camera to be. Optimize Standby Mode
The MaxRanger4K™’s standby mode is key for extended battery life. Adjust the Sleep Duration for when the camera goes into standby mode. This tells you how long the camera stays inactive before entering power-saving mode.
