How to Pair a Chime to Your Swann Video Doorbell

You can pair a compatible chime directly to your Swann doorbell so you can hear an alert when someone presses the doorbell. The Swann Security Video Doorbell and MaxRanger4K™ Video Doorbell each use their own compatible chime.
The doorbell does not need to be connected to the internet for chime pairing to work. As long as the doorbell has sufficient charge and the chime has 2x AA batteries, you can pair them.
Things to Know Before Pairing
Before you begin:
- Make sure your doorbell has sufficient battery charge.
- Insert 2x AA batteries into the compatible chime.
- Use the chime that is compatible with your doorbell model.
- If the chime came with your doorbell, it should already be paired.
- If you purchased an additional chime or the chime is no longer paired, follow the pairing instructions below.
- The doorbell does not need to be online or connected to Wi-Fi for the chime to pair.

Pair a Chime to a Swann Security Video Doorbell
If you have a Swann Security Video Doorbell (SWIFI-SE2KBC, SWIFI-4KBUDDY, SWIFI-BUDDY) and compatible chime (SOIFI-BUDDYCHM2, SWIFI-BUDDYCHM), follow these steps to pair them.
Press and hold the 'Set' button until it says "Ready for Pairing", along with the instructions on pairing it. The button is located on top of the chime.
The LED indicator beside will start showing blinking blue, letting you know it is in Pairing mode. If it isn't paired, the LED will stop blinking.
Once it is in Pairing mode, press and hold the Doorbell button to connect. It will say "Your device is now connected".
Once pairing is complete, press the doorbell button to confirm that the chime sounds.
NOTE: You can change the melody by pressing the 'Set' button on the chime. Press the doorbell to hear the selected melody.
Pair a Chime to a MaxRanger4K™ Video Doorbell
If you have a MaxRanger4K™ Video Doorbell (NVW-MR4KVDB) and compatible chime (SOACC-MRVDBCHM), follow these steps to pair them.
Press and hold the Melody button on the Chime. The Video Doorbell will announce that it is ready for pairing.
Press the Ring button on the Video Doorbell.
The Video Doorbell will pair with the Chime, and a confirmation announcement will indicate a successful pairing.
Once pairing is complete, press the doorbell button to confirm that the chime sounds.

Does the Doorbell Need to Be Online to Pair With the Chime?
No. The doorbell does not need an internet connection or video streaming connection for the chime to work.
The chime communicates directly with the doorbell. As long as the doorbell has charge and the compatible chime has 2x AA batteries, they can pair and communicate even when the doorbell is offline.
Why Is My Chime Already Paired?
If your chime came in the same package as your doorbell, it should already be paired from the factory.
You only need to follow the pairing instructions if you are setting up an additional compatible chime, replacing a chime, or the existing chime is no longer paired with the doorbell.
Why Isn't My Chime Working?
First, check that:
- The doorbell has sufficient battery charge.
- The chime has 2x AA batteries installed correctly.
- The chime is compatible with your doorbell model.
- The chime and doorbell have been paired correctly.

Does Wi-Fi Affect the Doorbell Chime?
No. The doorbell chime does not rely on the doorbell's internet connection to communicate with the doorbell.
Your doorbell may be offline and still activate its paired chime when the doorbell button is pressed, provided both devices have sufficient power.
