Swann Security app, available on both Android and iOS devices, is used to pair ActiveResponse Personal Safety Alarm. The app is also used to pair stand-alone cameras like the Xtreem4K™ Wire-Free Security Camera and SwannBuddy4K™ Video Doorbell and our existing recorders such as NVR-8580 and DVR-5580 to be accessed remotely once the network connection is settled on the unit.
Before we start, you need to make sure that:
- Swann Security app is downloaded.
- Your Swann Security account is logged in.
- Modes is set to Home.
- Phone's Bluetooth is on.
Tap Menu (upper left) then select Pair Device.
Tap Next.
Scan the QR code located at the bottom of the device. (see Where to get the QR Code for pairing in Swann Security app)
Ensure that the clear plastic covering the battery is removed, then insert the battery to the device until you hear two beeps. The device must be close to your phone for it to connect.
Tap Next.
The app will try to connect to the device's Bluetooth. If you haven't yet, make sure to turn on your phone's Bluetooth.
Once you see Device Connected, turn the button to "UNLK" then press the button to confirm.
Set a name for your device, then tap on Next. A Battery Saving message will appear; this is not required which means you can proceed to the next step.
Select where you have purchased the device to continue with the pairing setup.
Once the device is paired to your account, you will see this message. Tap on Done.
The next slide will ask if you want to get a subscription; you can skip that part if you want.
Lastly, make sure to allow the app to access your contacts since part of it's feature is to notify your selected individual.
