Solar Panel Edge Delamination – What You Need to Know
You may notice that the edges of your solar panel appear slightly delaminated or lifted. This can happen over time, especially in areas exposed to extreme weather conditions such as high UV, heat, wind, or moisture.
This image shows minor delamination at the edges of the panel. This is considered cosmetic and does not impact performance.
Is it a cause for concern?
No. If your solar panel is still functioning properly—charging your camera as expected—there is no cause for concern. The edge delamination is typically cosmetic and does not affect the performance of the panel.
Why does this happen?
Delamination at the edges can occur due to environmental stress over time. This is not unusual and is generally limited to the outer sealant layer. The internal solar cells and electrical components remain protected and operational.
What should I do?
No action is required as long as your camera continues to receive sufficient charge. We recommend monitoring the performance of the solar panel, especially after significant weather events. If charging is affected or you notice any cracking or damage to the panel surface, please contact our support team.
