How to play exported recordings on a computer (HomeSafe View)? Follow

NOTE: This guide is for the following recorders : DVR-1590, 1600, 4575/4580/4590, 4780, 4980, NVR-7450

Choose the software to play the file you have

  1. HomeSafe View and .264/.avi/.mp4 - for Windows and Mac
  2. VideoPlayer - for Windows only
  3. Other media player - instructions are for Windows but you can still try other software on either Windows or Mac

 

HomeSafe View and .264/.avi/.mp4
  1. Open HomeSafe View software - if you don't have the software yet, you can download it from these links:
    1. HomeSafe View for Windows
    2. HomeSafe View for Mac
  1. Click File located at the top left.
  2. Select Open Video File.

  1. Click the + icon - this will let you choose a file.


  1. Look for the exported file - double click the file once you've found it.
  1. Watch the clip - video will start playing.

 

VideoPlayer
  1. Open the VideoPlayer - if you don't have it yet, you can download it from HERE.

  1. Click the + icon located at the top left - this will let you choose a file.




  1. Look for the exported file - double click the file once you've found it.

  1. Select the file to play - double click to play the file.

  1. Watch the clip - video will start playing.

 

Other media player
  1. Look for the file - locate where you saved the file.
  1. Open with your media player – right-click on the file and choose 'Open with' then choose your desired media player. VLC can play most media files

*VLC is an open-source, self-contained media player that can play a variety of media without additional downloads or configuration. Please see their website for more information.
