DVRx- 2550 / DVRx-2600 - How to convert .264 video files to AVI format

You will need to use the AVI Generator software to do this. You can download it using this link:

To use the AVI Generator:

Install the program, then run it after it is finished installing. You will get this screen:

Click on the Open button. This will let you browse to the recording you want to convert.

Once you hit open, it will go back to the main screen, which should now look like this:

Next, click on the Save As button. This will let you browse to the folder where you want the .AVI file to be saved to. Here, you will need to make sure you specify a filename for the file to be created. As an example:

Here, the filename “backup_convert” was specified, and the resulting file will be saved on the Desktop.

After you hit Save, it will now look like this:

Click on Start, and it will begin converting the file to AVI.

All done! You can now go to your recording and play it back using Windows Media Player.
