How to Set Up NVW-490 Camera to an NVW-480 Recorder
To eliminate distance and obstruction to cause poor WiFi signal, have your camera, recorder, and router placed close together just to finish the setup.
First thing you should do is to check if the camera is detected but just isn't assigned on a channel.
To do that, right-click on the live feed and select the camera icon.
From here, check if there is a camera that isn't assigned to a channel. Click the dropdown and assign it to a channel for it to be shown on the live feed.
Click on Apply to save the settings.
If there is a missing camera on the list, then you may proceed below.
- On the unit itself, right-click then go to Menu.
- Proceed to NETWORK > WiFi Setting
- Write down the information from your screen:
- WIFI Mode: AP/Station
- SSID: < name of the WiFi >
- Password: (tick the Show Password box) < password of the SSID >
- Channel: (only available on AP Mode)
From here, there 3 possible scenarios. Click their corresponding link to go to the next step.
Scenario 1: WIFI Mode = AP with the default SSID and Password (WIFI_NVR_AP & 1234efgh).
- If your camera doesn't show image considering your recorder has the default WiFi settings, then try to reset the camera. To reset, press and hold the reset button until the camera speaks.
- After reset, wait for a couple of minutes and your camera should start to show an image.
Scenario 2 of 3: WIFI Mode = AP with a custom SSID and Password, proceed HERE.
Scenario 3 of 3: WIFI Mode = Station, proceed HERE.
