How to Set Up Cloud Storage (Dropbox) on Your Recorder

Swann Security recorders (DVR, NVR, and NVW also known as wireless NVR) now have the feature to save images or recordings to the Cloud via Dropbox, adding more ways of accessing footage while away from the unit itself.
Things to Have

- Must have a working remote streaming to validate internet connection on both phone and recorder

Dropbox account (free or premium) - If you don't have one, visit Dropbox and register for an account.
- For easy set up, install the Dropbox app on your phone and login your account.
Step-by-step Guide
Link Dropbox to Your Recorder
Choose your mobile device
- Tap Menu
- Open Swann Security app, it is at the top-left.
- Tap Dropbox.
- Tap the recorder that you want to set up.
- Tap Allow - This will allow Swann Security to access its own folder in your Dropbox account. Once authorized, it will go back to the Swann Security app. Go back to Menu > Dropbox again
- Tap OK - Dropbox is now linked to your recorder
- Tap Menu
- Open Swann Security app, it is at the top-left.
- Tap Dropbox.
- If you have multiple recorders, tap to the recorder that you want to set up.
- Tap Authorize.
- Tap Allow - This will allow Swann Security to access its own folder in your Dropbox account. Once authorized, it will go back to the Swann Security app. Go back to Menu > Dropbox again
- Tap Link to link the recorder to Dropbox.
NOTE: If you don't see Dropbox in the Swann Security app, your recorder might already be using Swann Security cloud's server instead. Visit Why Is Dropbox No Longer Available in the Swann Security App to learn more.
Enable Picture or Video to Cloud
Picture to Cloud and Video to Cloud are available in Alarm > Detection, then click Actions. See screenshots below:
This is also available in Analytics if your recorder supports it. Choose the Analytics that you want to configure, then click Actions.
Click Save once you are done making the changes.
NOTE: Please see some limitations when using this feature:
- Picture to Cloud - ALL the channels can be selected.
- Video to Cloud - maximum of two channels can be selected on most recorders. The number of channels may vary depending on your recorder hardware.
- Only partial recording per trigger will be uploaded to Dropbox. Please view the full clip on your recorder or via the Swann Security mobile app.
Where Is It Saved
In Dropbox, go to the folder called Apps then Swann Security. Subfolders are also created especially if you have multiple recorders. Clips and images that you've enabled in the recorder's setting per camera will be uploaded here.
