This guide will help you find the cause of the problem when the USB mouse stops working on your recorder. This does not apply to other peripherals, such as Is it possible to use a remote controller or Bluetooth mouse for navigation in the recorder?
Step 1: Check the Mouse Connection
- Make sure the mouse is firmly plugged into the USB port on the recorder.
- Unplug and reinsert the mouse to ensure a good connection.
Step 2: Look for the Red Light
- Turn the mouse over and check the underside.
- If you see a red light, the mouse is getting power.
- If there’s no light, the the port may not be supplying power.
Step 3: Avoid Glass or Reflective Surfaces
- If the mouse has a red light (optical sensor), do not use it on glass, shiny, or reflective surfaces.
- Place it on a solid, non-reflective surface like a mouse pad or wooden desk.
Step 4: Try a Different USB Port
- Move the mouse to another USB port on the recorder.
- Check if the cursor appears.
Step 5: Restart the Recorder
- Power off the recorder completely.
- Wait about 30 seconds, then turn it back on.
- Test the mouse again.
Step 6: Test the Mouse on Another Device
- Plug the mouse into a computer or laptop.
- If it doesn’t work there, the mouse likely needs replacing.
Step 7: Replace the Mouse or Check USB Port
- If the mouse works on a computer but not on the recorder, the recorder’s USB port may be faulty.
- Try another USB port on the recorder.
- If none of the ports work, the recorder needs replacing.
