Why Is the Date and Time Not Showing in My Camera's Live View?
Last updated:
Some Swann security cameras display the date and time directly on the live video feed, while others do not. This is normal for products designed without a live-view timestamp overlay. Even when the date and time are not visible in live view, they are still embedded in the recording and appear when you play back a recorded clip.
Why Doesn't My Camera Show the Date and Time in Live View?
The date and time display varies by Swann camera model. Some cameras show this information on the live feed, while others keep the live view focused on the camera footage without displaying the timestamp.
This does not mean your camera has stopped recording the date and time. The timestamp is embedded in the recorded footage, allowing you to identify when an event occurred during playback.
Will the Date and Time Appear in My Recordings?
Yes. The date and time are embedded in the recording, even if they are not visible during live viewing. When you play back a recorded clip, you can see the timestamp to help you identify when the footage was captured.

Summary
Not seeing the date and time in live view does not mean the timestamp is missing from your recordings. Swann cameras that do not display a live-view timestamp still embed the date and time in recorded footage, where it appears during playback.
