Use Gmail as Sender for email alerts Follow
Below are the steps that are needed in order to use Gmail as your Sender for email alerts on your recorder:
- Open your Gmail then click your avatar at the top-right then click Manage your Google Account
- At the left side, click Security and make sure to turn on 2-Step Verification
- Once done, click App passwords
- It will verify you first by entering your Google account's password; do so then click Next
- From here, click Select app then choose Other; Enter any name you like then click Generate
- A pop-up window will appear giving you the temporary password; copy that password as you will use it later to the recorder's email alert setup
- Once you click Done, you can't see this password anymore. Therefore make sure you have a copy; otherwise, you will need to delete it and start over again.
Don't forget to use the following for the SMTP settings:
- SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com
- SMTP Port: 587
