Cameras are not streaming on SwannView Plus app
This is for users that have 4K NVR 8000 may have problems in accessing it via their smartphones or tablets if they use the Swannview Plus app.
NVR 8000 uses H.265 video encoding (by default) and the old Swannview Plus app is unable to decode it and the result, no live video stream. However, it works fine on the Swannview Plus software.
The Solution is to change the Substream video encoding from H.265 to H.264.
On the DVR menu, select Record and choose Parameters on the left side. Click the Substream tab and change the Video Encoding from H.265 to H.264. Hit Apply to save the changes. Do this to all cameras.
MENU > RECORD > PARAMETERS > SUBSTREAM > Video Encoding = H.264
For advanced users, access the DVR via the browser and log in. It may ask you to install some new plugins so do install them.
Go to the Configuration tab and select the Video/Audio option on the left. Under the Video tab, change the Stream type from Main Stream to Sub Stream. Change the Video Encoding from H.265 to H.264 and hit the Save button. Do this to all cameras.
CONFIGURATION > VIDEO/AUDIO > VIDEO
- Stream Type: Sub Stream
- Video Encoding: H.264
