This article explains whether Swann offers add-on cameras or recorders for purchase alone, helping you understand your options for upgrading your security system.

Recorders

We don’t sell DVRs or NVRs separately OR alone because our systems are designed to work as a matched set for optimal performance and reliability. If you need additional cameras or accessories, these can be purchased separately, but the recorder itself is bundled with cameras in the kit.

Swann recorders are only available as part of a complete security kit. If you decide to purchase a kit, bear in mind that older BNC cables cannot be used while CAT3 cables will not work with the EliteX series. For more information, see the following:

Why kits only?

Swann systems are designed as integrated solutions. Selling recorders alone could lead to compatibility issues with other series of cameras, third-party cameras or unsupported configurations.

For older or discontinued models, you may find used or unopened items on third-party marketplaces such as eBay, Amazon, or other online platforms from unauthorized resellers.

Add-on cameras for security systems

Swann offers add-on cameras for some current recorder models, but availability is limited. Here’s what you need to know:

Add-on cameras are only available for selected, currently sold kits.
If your recorder is part of a current Swann kit in Swann Store, you may be able to purchase compatible cameras separately. E.g. SWIFI-PRO4KWLB-AU are compatible with DVR4-5580RU (see Swann Camera Compatibility Chart).
Limited time and stock:
Add-on cameras are sold while stocks last and typically only during the active sales period of the compatible kit model.
Legacy products:
We do not carry older or discontinued camera models. If your recorder is from a legacy kit, compatible cameras are no longer available from Swann.

Where to buy

If your camera model is not in the list above, visit the Swann Store in your country to check if the item is in stock.

Important Tips

Always confirm compatibility with your recorder model before purchasing. (See Are all Swann cameras compatible with any Swann recorder?)
If you cannot find your recorder or camera model in the Swann compatibility chart, it means it is no longer manufactured, and it is not compatible with current available models in store.
Mixing cameras from different technologies (e.g., analog vs. IP) or resolutions may cause issues.
