202505—Upcoming Security Update in July: What You Need to Know & Do Now
Subject: Action Required: Update Your Email by July 4 to Keep Your Account Secure
Clarification about the recent email you received:
If you received the email with the subject "Action Required: Update Your Email by July 4 to Keep Your Account Secure," it means your registered email is still accessible and you do not need to update it—unless you plan to stop using that email or will no longer have access to it.
As part of Swann's commitment to continuously improving your security, an important update is coming in early July 2025. All users will be automatically logged out of their Swann Security accounts. This guide will help you avoid losing access when that happens—especially if you’ve forgotten your password or changed your email.

What Will Happen
In early July 2025, as part of upcoming security enhancements, all Swann Security users will be automatically logged out of their accounts.
This means that you will not receive any notifications from the app unless you log back in with the same username and password.
Scenario 1: Forgot Your Password but Can Still Access Your Email?
If you still have access to the inbox of the email registered to your Swann Security account, follow these steps:
- Go to this article: How to Reset the Password of Your Swann Security Account
- Follow the instructions to send a password reset email to your inbox.
- Create a new, secure password.
Why this helps: Even if you're currently logged in, you’ll be logged out in July. Resetting your password now ensures you’ll be ready to log back in without delays.
Scenario 2: Don’t Have Access to Your Registered Email Anymore?
If you’re currently logged into the app, but no longer use or can’t access your registered email's inbox, you must change your email in the app:
- Go to this article: How to Change Your Swann Security Account Email
- Follow the instructions in Scenario 1.
- Ensure that you use an email address that you can access.
Why this helps: If you don’t do this before July 4, and you no longer have access to the old email, you won’t be able to reset your password or log in again.
NOTE: If you can't remember your password, but successfully changed the email address via the app, you need to reset your Swann Security password. Go to this article: How to Reset the Password of Your Swann Security Account
Important:
Your email won’t be updated unless you click the confirmation link sent to your new email.
Scenario 3: Have Access to My Email, and Know My Password
Great news—you don’t need to do anything right now.
As mentioned at the beginning of this article:
“All Swann Security users will be automatically logged out of their accounts.”
That’s it. If you still have access to your registered email and remember your Swann Security password, you’ll simply log back in when prompted in July—no changes or updates required.
Summary: Stay One Step Ahead
