RTSP (Real Time Streaming Protocol) lets compatible Swann devices stream live video to supported third-party software, such as video management systems (VMS) and media players. It is intended for advanced users who want to integrate their Swann device with other applications.

Not every Swann product supports RTSP. If your product's user manual or specifications do not mention RTSP, then it is not officially supported.

How do I know if my device supports RTSP?

The easiest way is to check the product's user manual.

✅ RTSP is supported if the manual includes RTSP setup or configuration.
❌ If RTSP is not mentioned, your device does not officially support it.

How do I use RTSP?

If your device supports RTSP, follow the RTSP instructions in the product manual and configure the stream in your compatible third-party software.

Configuration steps vary depending on the software you are using.

I found RTSP on my device, but it isn't documented

If your product isn't advertised or documented as supporting RTSP but you discovered an accessible RTSP stream:

Update to the latest firmware in case it's already addressed.
Don't expose the device directly to the internet (avoid port forwarding).
Use a strong device password.
Report the finding through Swann's Responsible Vulnerability Disclosure program so our security team can investigate it.

For a total security, disconnect the device from the network until we gave you guidance or a firmware update.

Summary
