How to Pair Your Recorder Using the Swann Security app
This guide will walk you through how to pair your Swann Security recorder to the Swann Security app. Once paired, you can view and manage your recorder along with other Swann devices all in one place.
Things to Prepare
Before you begin, make sure you have completed the following setup steps:
- Complete the Set Up Wizard
- Connect your recorder to the internet
- Have your recorder’s QR code ready
- Install the Swann Security app, create an account, verify it, then log in.

Follow the steps below if you are an Android user.
Open the Swann Security app, tap then tap
Tap
Scan the QR code of your recorder.
When prompted, enter your recorder password
- Username must stay as admin.
- Tap when done.

Common Error Messages When Pairing Your Recorder

- Error: Device association failed – already paired to an account
- Error: Device association failed – device is offline

- Error: Device association failed – unable to process request

For iOS users:
- Error: Connection Failed
- Error: User name or password error
